About Us
VinoTours LLC offers the best Wine, Food & Cultural Tours of Portugal, Spain and Italy. We are constantly in touch with leading professionals in these countries to keep up to date with what is happening in their areas so we can offer the highest, most informed, tours available to those interested.

Founded in 2014 by Richard Martin Hewitt, a certified sommelier, translator and builder. Richard is also an adjunct professor at Piedmont Valley Community College, Charlottesville, Virginia in the Enology program. Richard has published 2 travel books: "A Cottage in Portugal" (Simon & Schuster) and "Return to A Cottage in Portugal" (Gradiva). He spends half the year in Spain and Portugal and the remainder in Virginia.
Our Vision
Join Richard Hewitt, PVCC (Piedmont VA Community College) professor, sommelier and author (A Cottage in Portugal) as we tour some of the most unique, historic sites on the planet as well as top wineries and restaurants.
With miles of vineyards and cork oak trees, historic hilltop cities and deserted beaches-not to mention increasingly varied hotels and restaurants- the Alentejo has something for everyone. Portugal’s largest region, the Alentejo covers a third of the country, stretching north and east of Lisbon toward the southern Algarve coast and east to Spain.
The Douro, with its steep, precipitous terraces is the oldest demarcated (DOC/AOC) wine growing area in the world. Porto, with its riverside setting and multiple bridges, is a photographer's paradise.
Spain encompasses several different cultural milieus--from the enigmatic Basque culture to the fiery Catalonians, all maintaining a unique historical context and traditions. And don't forget the food!
Georgia enchants with unspeakable beauty and is the birthplace of wine!
